Interface agents - this word is the most used word in this chapter.
The future computer gets better and better. Now, it has reached a point where it is like a personal secretary and friend. Which, Negroponte says a lot of people believe it is buildable.
This PC secretary/friend should be well-trained. It should also have an idea of the things/people you like, your tastes…..everything a secretary and friend would know about you.
The agent, Negroponte says, should be more like a "butler" - "answers the phone, recognizes the callers, disturbs you when appropriate, and may even tell a white lie on your behalf. The same agent is well trained, versed in finding the opportune moments, and respectful of its idiosyncrasies."
