This chapter I found quite interesting. Negroponte shares his dream of our household appliances being connected to each other and all of them acting like "maids". He makes an example of the refrigerator asking the car to remind you to buy milk.
He then goes on talking about active badges or labels. For security reasons, he says, but I feel it is like having no privacy anymore. With this badge, we can be tracked down.
Going back to the household appliances, Negroponte says that one thing missing is a household robot. A butler, maid and guard dog rolled into one.
