Debunking Bandwidth
"Bandwidth is the capacity to more information down to a given channel."
Its amazing what Negroponte says that fiber, which is the size of a human hair, can deliver so much information so fast. Much more faster than copper, which he mentions is considered low bandwidth. There is also ether. It is scarce compared to the bandwidth available in fiber.
Copper is used in telephone lines, which actually is better than copper, though cheaper, because our telephone lines don't go dead whenever there is no electricity. In addition to this, Negroponte mentions ADSL, which is a technique that enables the sending of multiple data through short copper lines.
